Monty Cox is a seasoned film and television professional with a career spanning over 40 years, boasting an impressive array of skills and expertise. As a Master Trainer/Handler and Coordinator, he has made significant contributions to the entertainment industry, working on high-profile projects such as the Las Vegas extravaganza "Siegfried and Roy" and the beloved "Gentle Ben".
Prior to his work in the entertainment industry, Monty Cox served as the past President of Africa-USA, before its merger with Marine World. He then launched his own company, "The Lion Wild Animals Rentals, Inc.", providing services and expertise, as well as domestic and exotic animals, to the industry.
Monty has also had a successful career in the executive branch of the business, working at Ivan Tors Studios, where he learned the ins and outs of production, rising through the ranks as a Stuntman, Stunt Coordinator, and Second Unit Director. His impressive credits include "Apocalypse Now", "Die Hard", "Hunt for Red October", "Con Air", "Lost Boys", "Goonies", "Mr. Destiny", and the IMAX film "The Magic Box".
In addition to his work in production, Monty has also expanded into the creative aspects of writing, producing, and directing. He has worked with top talent and has created lovable characters such as Gentle Ben, Judy the Chimp, and Clarence the "Cross-Eyed" Lion for various media markets and live shows across the United States.
Monty's action-packed career has also included serving as the former president of the internationally recognized "International Stunt Association". He continues to train fierce felines and other animals for on-screen performances, maintaining records of his personal achievements and recognition for his daredevil stunts, including spectacular boat jumps and exploding through walls of fire.
Most recently, Monty has stepped into the field of screenwriting and producing with the horror-thriller "Road Games", where he made a lasting impression as the Second Unit Director/Stunt Coordinator in this e-ticket monster franchise.
