Na Hong-jin, a South Korean film director and screenwriter of great acclaim, embarked on his cinematic journey in 1974. His remarkable directorial debut, The Chaser, premiered in 2008 and garnered widespread recognition, earning him the esteemed Best Director award at the 45th Grand Bell Awards, a prestigious honor bestowed upon him that same year. The film's impressive success did not go unnoticed, as it also took home the coveted Best Film award, a testament to Na's exceptional skill and artistry. Na's subsequent project, The Yellow Sea, made its highly anticipated South Korean debut on December 15, 2010, and is set to make a splash at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival, where it will be showcased in the Un Certain Regard section, a platform that has launched the careers of many renowned filmmakers.
