Born in Brooklyn, New York, August's early life was marked by international exposure, as she spent her formative years between the ages of four and fourteen in France and Port-au-Prince, Haiti. This unique upbringing has gifted her with fluency in three languages: English, French, and Haitian Creole.
August's academic credentials include a Master of Fine Arts degree in Theatre Arts from the esteemed Actors Studio program at The New School in New York.
Throughout her career, August has received numerous accolades for her outstanding performances. In 2008, she garnered her first Theatre nomination from the NAACP Theatre Awards for her portrayal of Abbe Putnam in Eugene O'Neill's "Desire Under the Elms" at The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in Los Angeles.
In 2016, August received another Theatre nomination for her leading role in the West Coast Premiere of Dominique Morisseau's play "Sunset Baby".
