Nathan Blair's affinity for movies dates back to his childhood, an era defined by the cinematic magic of the 1980s. Among the many films that have left an indelible mark on his imagination, none holds a more special place in his heart than the iconic "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark". This beloved classic sparked a lifelong passion for filmmaking, a dream that initially seemed as elusive as the Ark itself.
As a graphic designer, Nathan's creative talents were undeniable, but it was during this period that he began to sense a divine nudge, urging him to pivot towards a career in filmmaking. This calling was met with a mix of excitement and trepidation, ultimately leading Nathan to a period of fasting and prayer. In his own words, "God only made me wait 2 meals thankfully." It was during this introspective time that Nathan experienced a profound moment of clarity, with God speaking to him in a simple yet powerful whisper: "Go."
Since then, Nathan has made a significant impact on the faith-based film industry, having written, directed, cinematographed, and edited five feature films: "A Perfect Chord", "2nd Greatest", "A High School Story", "SCION", and "Sleeper Agent". These projects have not only showcased his versatility as a filmmaker but also demonstrated his commitment to crafting crossover films that convey a Christ-centered message.
Nathan's influence extends beyond his own creative endeavors, as he has become the Executive Director of Cross Wind Productions, a 501(c)3 ministry dedicated to inspiring, encouraging, and training the next generation of Christian filmmakers. His vision is to create a platform where young filmmakers can produce content that resonates with their peers, speaking a language that is authentic and relevant.
In his own words, Nathan has expressed his concern that while Christian filmmakers are producing content that speaks to adults, Hollywood is working tirelessly to capture the hearts and minds of children. Cross Wind Productions aims to bridge this gap, providing a safe space for teenagers to create movies that speak directly to their generation.
