Nick Bakay, a native of Buffalo, New York, embarked on his academic journey at Kenyon College in Ohio, where he honed his skills and laid the foundation for his future success.
In 1983, Bakay's pursuit of higher education led him to the Professional Acting Program at Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas, where he earned his Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree.
Following his graduation, Bakay relocated to New York City, where he began his acting career by performing in a multitude of theater productions.
Simultaneously, he took on the role of a contributing editor for National Lampoon magazine, utilizing his writing talents to craft features and fake letters to the editor, as well as creating a comic strip titled "The Evil Clown."
This versatile array of skills ultimately led to a writing job and starring roles in two cable series: Night After Night (1989) and Sports Monster (1991).
In 1992, Bakay joined The Dennis Miller Show as a writer and sidekick/announcer, a position that marked a significant turning point in his career.
After a successful stint on the show, Bakay made the decision to relocate to Los Angeles, where he has since written, performed, and guest-starred in numerous television series.
