Nick deKay: A Multi-Talented Stuntman with a Passion for Adrenaline and Performance
Born and raised in Hiram, Maine, Nick deKay's journey began at a young age, discovering his love for adrenaline and physical challenges. He started training in Karate at the age of six and became a professional fighter in his twenties. This experience would later serve as a foundation for his career as a stuntman.
As Nick's skills in Karate and martial arts continued to grow, he utilized his IT skills to start his own tech company and later became the Chief Information Officer of a multi-state mortgage company. However, the thrill of the tech world wasn't enough for him, and he found himself drawn to the world of martial arts. He started what would become one of the most successful MMA gyms in Georgia, Unit 2 Fitness.
While running the gym, Nick was approached by an independent film crew to use his gym as a filming location. He agreed on the condition that they gave him a part, and the director agreed. This marked the beginning of Nick's transition into the film industry, where he discovered a new passion for performing death-defying feats.
With over 150 film and TV credits, Nick is now one of the most sought-after stunt performers in the business. He has performed stunts for some of the biggest films and television shows, including Black Panther, Stranger Things, the Fast and Furious films, The Walking Dead, and many more. Nick's methodical approach and commitment to his craft have earned him a reputation as one of the most respected and sought-after stuntmen in the industry.
But Nick's talents don't stop at stunts. He is also an accomplished race car and motorcycle racer, competing in races across the country. He has won several regional championships racing cars, and his love for adrenaline-fueled activities is evident in his many pursuits.
Now, with over a decade of experience under his belt, Nick is ready to take on a new challenge. He has set his sights on directing feature films, and with his extensive background in stunts, he is uniquely qualified to bring high-octane action to the big screen. His first feature film, a documentary titled The Ark of Lilburn, is available on all major streaming platforms.
