Nicole Stott, a renowned astronaut and artist, has spent her career exploring the vastness of space and the depths of our oceans. With a profound appreciation for the beauty of our planet, she has dedicated her life to sharing the stunning vistas of Earth from space with others.
As a veteran NASA astronaut, Nicole has had the privilege of embarking on two spaceflights, spending a total of 104 days living and working in space on both the Space Shuttle and the International Space Station. Her impressive resume includes performing a single spacewalk, operating the robotic arm to capture the HTV cargo vehicle, and being part of the crew that flew on the final mission of the Space Shuttle Discovery, STS-133.
One of Nicole's most memorable moments in space was the creation of the first watercolor painting in space, a testament to her artistic talents and her ability to find inspiration in the most unexpected places.
In addition to her spaceflight experience, Nicole is also a NASA Aquanaut, who, along with her NEEMO9 crew, spent 18 days living and working in the Aquarius undersea habitat. This unique experience prepared her for spaceflight and allowed her to gain valuable insights into the challenges of living and working in extreme environments.
