Nikki has had a prolific career in the film and television industry, spanning over two decades. Her debut role in Ian Mune's Whole of the Moon in 1995 marked the beginning of a successful journey, with her portrayal of Marty, a street-kid with cancer, earning her two Best Actress awards.
Since then, Nikki has taken on a wide range of roles, showcasing her versatility as an actor. In 2024, she will be seen playing the tough and determined Superintendent Dominique Stevens in the TV series Dark City: The Cleaner, opposite Elijah Wood in the feature film Bookworm. Additionally, she has appeared in the dystopian TV series Creamerie, directed by Roseanne Liang, and the Kiwi/Canadian thriller The Sounds, playing the roles of Constance and DSS Pilau, respectively.
Nikki's extensive filmography also includes Super City, Housebound, My Life is Murder, One Thousand Ropes, Filthy Rich, and the New Zealand-based lesbian comedy web series Pot Luck series 1 & 2, where she won the Best Actress award at the 2017 Rome Web Awards. In her directorial debut, Same But Different: A True New Zealand Love Story, she made a cameo appearance as Hemi, and the film enjoyed a 13-week run at the NZ box office.
As a writer and director, Nikki's work has been showcased at various international festivals, including Berlinale, Tribeca, Sydney, HIFF, L.A. Skins, FIFO, Melbourne, Queerscreen, NZIFF, and imagineNATIVE. Her films have received awards and nominations in L.A., New York, and Paris. Nikki was one of the 70 selected filmmakers worldwide to attend Berlinale Talents in 2017 and the only Kiwi/Pacific Islander to do so.
