Nishi Munshi has been a multifaceted figure in the entertainment industry for 15 years, wearing many hats as an Actress, Singer, Musician, and Choreographer/Dancer. Her early life was marked by a nomadic upbringing, as her family traveled and performed in a music band across the United States and other countries, with Nishi taking to the stage from a young age. Over the years, she has performed in an astonishing 1,000 live-stage shows, showcasing her talents in singing, drumming, and dancing.
In addition to her stage experience, Nishi has also honed her physical skills through the practice of Mixed Martial Arts and Tae Kwon Do, which ultimately helped her land her first gig on an Indian feature film, 'My Name is Khan'. Her extensive credits in acting and music include working with prominent networks and studios such as NBC, CBS, USA Network, FOX, Warner Bros., and Lifetime.
Some of her most notable roles include Gia on 'The Originals', Erica Malick on FOX's 'Lethal Weapon', and Devi in 'The Order 1886' and Rikki Patil in 'Days Gone' under Sony Playstation. As an independent filmmaker, Nishi has served as an Executive Producer and director on a feature film, which was successfully funded and premiered at the AFI.
As a dancer, Nishi is a skilled practitioner of Classical (Kathak, Bharatnatiyam) and 'Bollywood' styles, and has had the opportunity to choreograph and dance with prominent artists such as Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Bieber, Jason Derulo, and the acclaimed Michael Jackson's Cirque ONE show.
Beyond her entertainment career, Nishi is a passionate advocate for human rights, having served as a board member for Valley Family Center (victims of domestic violence) for one year. Her volunteer work has also taken her to India, where she has worked with at-risk youth at Shanti Bhavan Non-Profit School. Through her Webisodes, YouTube videos, book of poetry, and novel-in-progress, Nishi aims to raise funds for human rights activism and educate at-risk youth.
