Nora, Partner and Creative Director at Cartoon Saloon, is a highly acclaimed and accomplished director, having been nominated for numerous prestigious awards including the Academy Award and Golden Globe. Her passion for visual storytelling began at a young age and has driven her to excel in the medium of animation.
Throughout her career, Nora has collaborated with her colleagues at Cartoon Saloon in Kilkenny, Ireland, directing award-winning short films and commercials, as well as co-directing Tomm Moore's Academy Award-nominated film, The Secret of Kells. She has also played a key role in guiding the development processes of various series, including the popular preschool show, Puffin Rock.
As Head of Story and Voice Director on Song of the Sea, Nora contributed to the film's Academy Award nomination. She went on to direct The Breadwinner, which received numerous international awards, including the Best Indie Feature Annie Award and the Audience and Jury Awards at Annecy. Her most recent project was directing My Father's Dragon, a Netflix original animated feature film inspired by the Newbery Award-winning children's book by Ruth Stiles Gannett.
Throughout her career, Nora has demonstrated her versatility and adaptability, taking on various roles including director, producer, editor, writer, production artist, and voice director, depending on the needs of each production. She continues to collaborate with her creative partners, Tomm Moore and Paul Young, on various projects.
