Biography

Olympe Bradna, a trailblazing French dancer and actress of unparalleled talent and dedication, left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry, a testament to her unwavering passion and perseverance that spanned multiple decades and traversed the globe.

Born on August 12, 1920, Bradna's remarkable journey began at a tender age of 18 months, when she would accompany her parents to various performances as a bare-back rider, laying the foundation for a lifelong career that would be marked by innovation, creativity, and unbridled energy.

As Olympe's formative years unfolded, her innate abilities began to flourish, and by the tender age of eight, she had already developed a remarkable proficiency in the art of acrobatic dance, captivating audiences with her impressive performance in a French rendition of the beloved musical extravaganza "Hit the Deck". This auspicious debut served as a springboard for her future success, ultimately leading her to secure a coveted spot within the esteemed ranks of the renowned Folies Bergère, where she continued to refine her craft and take center stage in a diverse array of productions.

Olympe's remarkable career trajectory unfolded in a series of esteemed global hubs, with notable stops in Stockholm, Sweden, and New York City, USA. Initially, her film career flourished in France, where she laid the groundwork for her subsequent transition to the vibrant entertainment capital of Hollywood, California, which ultimately proved to be the pinnacle of her professional achievements. During this illustrious period, she had the privilege of sharing the silver screen with some of the most iconic and revered actors of her time, including the distinguished Ronald Reagan, the charismatic George Raft, and the legendary Gary Cooper.

Olympe's life took a significant turn in May 1941, as she embarked on a lifelong journey of love and companionship by marrying Douglas Woods Wilhoit, a union that would stand the test of time for over seven decades.

Following her retirement from the world of acting, Olympe and her family made the move to Stockton, California, before eventually settling in Lodi, California, where they would make a new life for themselves.

The couple's marriage was blessed with the arrival of four children, who would go on to bring immense joy and pride to their parents. Additionally, Olympe and Douglas were also blessed with five grandchildren, who would further expand their family's circle of love. And as if that wasn't enough, the couple's family was further enriched by the arrival of eight great-grandchildren, who would bring even more joy and fulfillment to their lives.

Throughout their long and fulfilling life together, Olympe and Douglas's marriage endured, a testament to the power of true love and commitment. Unfortunately, their time together was eventually brought to a close, as Douglas passed away in February 2012, leaving Olympe to carry on without her beloved partner. Just nine months later, on November 5, 2012, Olympe's own life would come to a close, bringing an end to a remarkable life that was filled with love, laughter, and adventure.
