Orlando Eric Street was born Eric Darrell Street II in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois. As the second of four siblings and the only boy, Orlando's early life was filled with the sounds and energy of the city. His family resided in Chicago until he was 12 years old, when his father, Eric Street, Sr., made the decision to relocate to Louisiana in 1982, driven by a desire to keep his children off the streets and out of trouble with gangs.
Orlando's interest in acting began at a young age, both in Chicago and later in Louisiana. He would often take on roles in local productions, and even made home movies as a hobby. To this day, he treasures the home movies he directed, which feature a host of family members.
While theater remained his first love, his father encouraged him to pursue a career in tennis, believing that an athletic scholarship would be a more secure path for his future. Orlando attended Southern University, where he majored in Broadcasting. During his college years, he supplemented his income by modeling and acting for local companies.
After graduating from college, Orlando began working as a professional tennis player and continued to act in local theater and commercials to maintain his acting skills. It was during this time that his father suggested he pursue acting full-time, but Orlando decided not to take the leap, as his father was ill. In 2011, Orlando Eric Street began a renewed pursuit of an acting career, driven by his father's words and his own realization of his true passion for acting. His ultimate goal is to win an Academy Award.
To date, Orlando continues to direct small family films, and Switchin' the Script marks his first major movie role.
