Biography

Ott Aardam, a multifaceted Estonian actor, was born on July 1, 1980, in Orissaare, Saaremaa, where he spent his formative years and received his primary education from Orissaare Gymnasium in 1995.

Aardam's academic pursuits continued at Saaremaa Gymnasium, where he earned his secondary education in 1998. Following this, he relocated to Tallinn and enrolled in the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre Drama School, studying under the guidance of renowned drama teacher and actor Elmo Nüganen. Alongside his peers, including Priit Võigemast, Karin Rask, Maria Soomets, Hele Kõre, Mart Toome, Evelin Võigemast, Elisabet Reinsalu, and Argo Aadli, Aardam graduated from the academy in 2002.

Aardam's professional career began shortly after graduation, as he secured an engagement with the Ugala theatre in Viljandi, where he would work until 2008. His tenure was marked by a commitment to his craft, and in April 2014, he took on the role of creative director at the Ugala theatre.

Aardam made his film debut in the 2002 drama Nimed marmortahvlil, directed by Elmo Nüganen, which was based on the novel of the same name penned by Albert Kivikas in 1936. This was followed by a role in the joint Estonian-Finnish comedy Kinnunen in 2007. In 2015, he appeared in the adventure film Supilinna Salaselts, directed by Margus Paju, and in 2016, he starred in the black comedy Päevad, mis ajasid segadusse, directed by Triin Ruumet.

In 2017, Aardam appeared in the drama Keti lõpp, directed by Priit Pääsuke, and in 2019, he starred in the drama Tõde ja Õigus, directed by Tanel Toom, which was based on the novel of the same name.

In addition to his film work, Aardam has had a recurring role as Jaanus on the popular ETV series Õnne 13 since 2003, a role that has become synonymous with his talent. He has also made appearances as an actor in other television programs, including Kättemaksukontor and Viimane võmm.
