Biography

Patricia Wilde, a stunning hazel-eyed beauty, was born Marjorie Heintzen on April 28, 1915, although some sources list her birth date as either 1918 or 1920. Her father, a Bostonian leather broker, provided a comfortable upbringing, and Patricia received her formal education at a prestigious private school.

From an early age, Patricia demonstrated a strong interest in the arts, which led her to abandon her studies at the tender age of 14 to pursue a career in acting and modeling. She relocated to New York, where she secured roles in various stage productions, including "No War in Troy" and "Here Come the Clowns."

In 1936, Patricia met rising actor Cornel Wilde at a booking agent's office, and they married the following year after appearing together in the Broadway play "Sea Legs." They continued to collaborate on various projects, including the off-Broadway play "Moon Over Mulberry Street" in 1938 and the musical "DuBarry Was a Lady."

In 1943, Patricia gave birth to a healthy daughter, Wendy, following a miscarriage. After her husband's success in the film "A Song to Remember" (1945),Patricia began to pursue a film career with his guidance. Although she didn't secure the role she wanted opposite her husband in "Forever Amber" (1947),it sparked interest in her, and she made her film debut in "Roses Are Red" (1947) despite having no formal training.

Patricia's subsequent films, including "The Fabulous Texan" (1947) and "Shockproof" (1949),showcased her as a platinum blonde and opposite her husband. However, her career began to decline due to her husband's increasing interference and jealousy. After separating from Wilde, Patricia met and married Danish skating champion Nils Larsen in 1951.

Without Wilde's influence, Patricia's career stagnated, and she appeared in only a few more films before disappearing from the public eye. She and Larsen lived in Spain for many years before returning to the United States in 1969, two years before his death. Patricia married her third husband, building advisor David Wright, who died in 1996. She passed away on October 26, 2004, in Hemet, California.
