Patricio Valladares is a multifaceted creative force, born in Chile on July 17, 1982. As a director, screenwriter, editor, and producer, he has made a significant impact in the genre cinema landscape.
His feature film debut, "En las Afueras DE la Ciudad" (Hidden in the Woods),was released in 2011 and premiered at the Fantasia Film Festival. The film, based on a true story, gained international recognition, screening at prominent festivals such as London's Film 4 FrightFest and Belgium's Razor Reel. Epic Pictures Group is currently handling sales and distribution, with a worldwide release planned for 2016.
The film caught the attention of actor Michael Biehn, who would later produce the English-language remake through his production company, WTFilms. This production company is also handling worldwide sales, with the movie set to release in numerous territories in 2016.
In 2014, Valladares directed "Toro Loco: Sangriento", a Chilean action-comedy film shot entirely in Spanish. The world premiere took place at the Morbido Film Fest in Mexico, and Event Film is currently handling sales and distribution.
In 2015, Valladares shot three feature films in English, all of which are currently in post-production. These include "Downhill", an experimental horror-thriller shot in Chile, with WTFilms serving as the worldwide sales agent.
The second film, "The Ghosts of Garip", is a part-horror, part-found footage film shot on location in Istanbul, Turkey, with Moonrise Pictures serving as the sales agent.
Lastly, Valladares directed "Fade in Bulgaria Nightmare", starring Robert Englund, known for his iconic role in the Elm Street franchise. These three features were produced by Loris Curci and written by Barry Keating.
