Patrick Massett's career in television began with Veritas: The Quest, an ABC series he co-created and executive produced alongside his partner, John Zinman, in 2003. This marked the start of a successful television career, with Massett and Zinman going on to co-executive produce several notable shows.
One of their most notable projects was Friday Night Lights, a critically acclaimed series that won an Emmy Award during its run on NBC from 2006 to 2011. Massett and Zinman also co-executive produced The Chicago Code, a crime drama that aired on FOX from 2011 to 2012, and Last Resort, a military drama that premiered on ABC in 2012.
In addition to his work on these series, Massett co-executive produced The Blacklist, a crime thriller starring James Spader that aired on NBC from 2013 to present. He also served as an executive producer and showrunner on The Player, a drama series that aired on NBC in 2015, starring Wesley Snipes.
Massett and Zinman continued to work together, co-writing the 2016 film Gold, starring Matthew McConaughey and directed by Stephen Gaghan. They also served as showrunners on Last Light, a series that premiered on Peacock in 2021, starring Matthew Fox.
The duo is set to release Wind River Rising, the sequel to the critically acclaimed film Wind River, in late 2023.
