Patrick Finerty's early life was marked by his upbringing in Alexandria, Virginia, a city that would later serve as a stepping stone for his future endeavors. He furthered his education by attending Virginia Tech for his undergraduate studies and The University of Miami, Florida for his graduate studies.
Prior to his transition into television and film, Finerty gained valuable experience in the broadcasting industry, working at prominent stations such as WRC-TV in Washington D.C., WFYR-FM in Chicago, and KFWB-AM in Los Angeles. His diverse background includes stints in talk radio, TV news, and local theater, where he honed his improv comedy skills at the renowned Second City Chicago.
Throughout his career, Finerty has received numerous accolades, including a Best Actor Award for his stage performance as Clifford Anderson in DEATHTRAP, a Chicagoland Cable Award for the news documentary HOMELESS FOR THE HOLIDAYS, and a Golden Mike Award for his coverage of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center. He has also garnered multiple Emmy nominations for his roles on FOX Nation's Holiday classic CHRISTMAS WITH THE FOXES, Tina Fey's prime time sit-com GREAT NEWS on NBC, LIFETIME's TV movies YOUR HUSBAND IS MINE and A DEADLY GRUDGE, and BOUNCE's flagship sit-com IN THE CUT.
Additionally, Finerty has lent his talents to an Emmy award-winning PSA for the FBI and has appeared in several Telly Award-winning projects. His theatrical work has primarily focused on comedy, with notable appearances on JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE, Don Cheadle's Showtime hit BLACK MONDAY, FUNNY OR DIE, COLLEGE HUMOR, TIM & ERIK, ATTACK OF THE SHOW, MTV, SPIKE, CARTOON NETWORK, and most recently on John Mulaney's Netflix special EVERYBODY'S IN LA and Kyle Mooney's new Netflix show SATURDAY MORNING ALL STARS!.
When not acting, Finerty enjoys playing the piano, guitar, banjo, and ukulele, as well as surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, and riding motorcycles. He currently resides in Los Angeles with his two rescue terriers, Trixie and Sport.
