Biography

Paul, an accomplished English actor and writer, was born in Knutsford, Cheshire, England in 1971. He has four half-brothers, and his early education took place at Knutsford High School, Salford Collage of Technology, and East 15 Acting School, where he graduated in 1992.

Upon completing his studies, Paul made his London debut in the comedic role of Frosh in Die Fledermaus at Sadlers Wells in 1994, with the performance being recorded at the renowned Abbey Road Studios. Over the course of his career, spanning more than twenty years, Paul has worked extensively in theatre, television, film, and radio, touring the UK and abroad with various companies, including the Royal Shakespeare Company, Headlong, and Northern Broadsides.

Paul has made numerous appearances in the West End, performing at esteemed venues such as The Queens, The Savoy, The Novello, and Sadlers Wells. His film credits include Topsy Turvey, directed by Mike Leigh, as well as The BFG and Ready Player One, both directed by Steven Spielberg. He has also made various television appearances throughout his career.

In addition to his acting work, Paul has co-written and acted in several cult comedy series for BBC Radio 4, collaborating with writer Neil Warhurst. In his personal life, Paul is married to Sarah Barnhill and has two daughters, Darcey Barnhill and Ruby Barnhill, the latter of whom is also an actress.
