Biography

Paul's life took a dramatic turn when he first set foot on the Scottish soil, marking the beginning of a cinematic odyssey that would span decades and traverse the globe. As a teenager, he discovered his passion for filmmaking, capturing the world around him through the lens of his Super 8 camera. These early endeavors caught the attention of the prestigious St Martins School of Art in London, which offered him a coveted spot among its esteemed ranks. With a keen sense of determination and a strong work ethic, Paul threw himself into his studies, earning a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Fine Art Film.

Paul embarked on a journey to the United Kingdom, where he spent approximately thirty months directing low-budget music videos, gaining valuable experience and refining his craft. Following this period, he made the bold decision to relocate to the city of angels, Los Angeles, in pursuit of a full-time career in the highly competitive field of filmmaking. Upon arrival, he secured a coveted directing contract with the esteemed Ridley Scott & Associates, a renowned production company that has produced some of the most iconic films and commercials in the industry. As part of the RSA team, Paul played a pivotal role in the development of Black Dog films, a subsidiary of the company that focused on producing high-quality, low-budget feature films. In this capacity, he became the first director to be placed on contract with RSA, a testament to his exceptional talent and dedication. During his tenure at RSA, Paul had the privilege of working with a diverse range of artists, including the illustrious Lenny Kravitz, the iconic Australian rock band INXS, the soulful singer-songwriter Seal, and the critically acclaimed British band Jamiroquai, among many others.

Paul's illustrious career trajectory continued to unfold as he secured a directing contract at Propaganda Films, a renowned production company led by the visionary Steve Golin and Co. During his tenure at Propaganda Films, Paul had the distinction of directing an impressive array of award-winning, world-class music videos for an esteemed roster of international superstars, including the iconic Shania Twain, the incomparable Sting, the incomparable Céline Dion, the accomplished Bryan Adams, and the phenomenally popular Backstreet Boys.

Throughout his tenure at Propaganda Films, Paul accumulated an impressive portfolio of over 150 music video directing credits, a testament to his exceptional skill, versatility, and dedication to his craft.

Paul's professional trajectory underwent a significant expansion, as he ventured into the realm of commercials, where he conceptualized and directed numerous high-profile campaigns for esteemed brands such as Jaguar, Toyota, Volkswagen, L'Oréal, Target, Procter & Gamble, Clairol, and many others.

Throughout his illustrious career, Paul played a pivotal role in pioneering cross-promotion product placement in music videos, exemplified by his global hit for Sting, "Desert Rose," which prominently featured the new line of Jaguars in 2001, marking a significant milestone in his creative journey.

Paul made his mark on the film industry by penning and helming his inaugural feature film, "Vicious Circle", which premiered in theaters in 2009 and received widespread acclaim, claiming a plethora of prestigious festival awards, including the coveted Best Picture honor at the esteemed New York Latino Film Festival.

In addition to his directing endeavors, Paul currently holds the esteemed position of Head of Production for Dave Stewart's Weapons of Mass Entertainment, a comprehensive production company headquartered in the heart of Hollywood, California.

Furthermore, Paul is actively preparing for the production of his sophomore feature film, "Girl Wanted", which promises to be an exciting new chapter in his illustrious career.
