Paul was born on February 12, 1969, in the easternmost province of Canada, New Brunswick, where he was raised speaking both official languages. This unique linguistic background would later influence his career as a performer. Prior to pursuing his passion for the stage, Paul spent a year studying general arts at the prestigious University of Ottawa, where he honed his skills and refined his artistic vision.
However, it was not long before Paul decided to dedicate himself to a career as a performer. In 1992, he graduated with honours from Dawson College's Professional Theatre Acting program in Montreal, Quebec. This marked a significant milestone in his journey, as he had finally found his calling.
To further his classical theatre training, Paul spent two seasons as an apprentice and journeyman at The Stratford Festival in 1994 and 1995. This experience not only deepened his understanding of the craft but also provided him with a wealth of knowledge and expertise.
After his time at The Stratford Festival, Paul relocated to Toronto, where he would call home for more than 15 years. During this period, he continued to work regularly in theatre, solidifying his reputation as a talented performer. Additionally, he became equally prolific in film, television, and voice performance, showcasing his versatility and range.
Today, Paul resides in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with his family, having built a life that is deeply rooted in his passion for the arts.
