Biography

Paul Sin Nam Rigter is a multifaceted Korean-born creative force, residing in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. His journey began during his university years, where he started honing his acting skills on the stage with Toneelgroep Amsterdam. Over the years, he seamlessly transitioned between stage and screen acting, eventually combining his passion with producing and directing.

His directorial debut, the documentary 'Spelen voor het verleden' (Play for the Past),marked the beginning of a new chapter in his career. The critically acclaimed documentary 'The Nose - Searching for Blamage', which premiered at the prestigious HotDocs Festival, showcased his exceptional storytelling abilities. This was followed by the direction of several notable documentary TV series for Dutch national television, including the three-part series 'Helden van het Maxima', which explored the lives of workers in a revolutionary new children's hospital.

In 2020, Paul Sin Nam Rigter received the esteemed IDFA Award for Best Dutch Documentary for his film 'Dood in de Bijlmer' (Dealing with Death),a poignant exploration of mourning rituals within diverse ethnic communities in Amsterdam.

As an actor, he has recently appeared in a major theater production in the Netherlands, 'Harmonie', and in international drama series such as 'Treadstone' (NBC, Amazon, USA) and 'Cold Courage' (Lionsgate, Viaplay, Finland/Ireland/Belgium).
