Perry Escaño is a seasoned television, stage, and film actor, hailing from Ilo-Ilo, Philippines, and currently based in Manila. He has had the privilege of honing his craft through professional theater acting workshops, facilitated by renowned industry experts such as Bodjie Pascua at the Bulwagang Gantimpala Theater. Additionally, he has received advanced and intensive acting trainings from the esteemed Gina Alajar at the Movie Workers Welfare Foundation (Mowelfund).
Throughout his illustrious career, Perry has appeared in an impressive array of over fifty television shows, and has acted in more than thirty films and professional stage plays. He has received critical acclaim for his performances, including a nomination for Best Actor at the 2014 Queens International Film Festival for his role in "TNT". His extensive filmography boasts appearances in notable productions such as Redd Ochoa's "Baliw", a special selection at the 2007 World Film Festival in Montreal, Canada; Brillante Mendoza's "Captive", a finalist at the 2013 Berlin International Film Festival; and Paul Soriano's "Thelma", which won the Bronze Palm Award at the 2012 Mexico International Film Festival.
Beyond his acting prowess, Perry is also a multifaceted creative force, with a passion for writing, directing, and producing. He has ventured into the production side of events, theater, and film, and has written and directed several notable projects. Notably, his film "Ang Guro Kong 'di Marunong Magbasa (My Teacher Who Doesn't Know How to Read)" was a finalist for the 2017 Main Competition of Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival. Additionally, he wrote and directed "Alibi", which took 1st Runner-up in the Most Popular Film Competition at the 2012 International Film Festival Manhattan in New York City. Perry has also directed "Overture", an official selection at the 2013 IFF Manhattan, and written "Tama (Deranged)", an official selection at the 2011 Gawad CCP Film Festival.
Most recently, Perry has written and directed "Ang Platinong Buhok (The Platinum Hair)", a documentary film chronicling the life of the late theater thespian Ama Quiambao. Prior to his career in the entertainment industry, Perry earned a Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the Lyceum University in Manila. He is also the founder and Executive Producer of Singkuwento Internasyonal, a touring exhibition of short films that has been showcased in various cities. Furthermore, Perry is the founder and owner of MPJ Entertainment Productions, formerly known as Triple M Productions.
