Peter Barry Chowka is a renowned journalist who has dedicated his career to reporting on Alternative Medicine for over two decades. His extensive work has taken him from the political circles of Washington, D.C. to alternative clinics in the United States and Mexico.
With a prolific career spanning multiple mediums, Peter's work has appeared in print, radio, television, and documentary films. Notable documentaries include PBS's The Cancer War (1983),Hoxsey: Quacks Who Cure Cancer? (1988),and What Your Doctor Won't Tell You About Cancer (1989). He also wrote the narration for the 13-part PBS series Healthy Living, starring award-winning actress Jane Seymour.

In 1980, Peter stumbled upon the Bio-Medical Center, home of the Hoxsey Therapy, which had been operating underground in Tijuana, Mexico since 1963. His subsequent articles and media appearances brought the Hoxsey Therapy to widespread public attention. His work also inspired the award-winning documentary film Hoxsey: Quacks Who Cure Cancer?, which tells the story of Mildred Nelson, R.N., the modern pioneer of the Hoxsey Therapy and founder of the Bio-Medical Center.
Before her passing in 1999, Mildred granted Peter unprecedented access to write the inside story of her life with the Hoxsey Therapy. Peter's dedication to the subject has earned him the reputation as one of the most respected and widely quoted journalists and commentators in the field of Alternative Medicine.
In addition to his writing, Peter is also an accomplished photojournalist. Since the early 1970s, he has visually documented the lives and work of pioneers in alternative cancer therapies through his original photographs. These pioneers include Linus Pauling, Ph.D., Ernesto Contreras, Sr., M.D., Emanuel Revici, M.D., Lawrence Burton, Ph.D., William Donald Kelley, D.D.S., and many others.
