Peter James Coggan, a multifaceted individual, was born and raised in the picturesque farm country surrounding Kalamazoo, Michigan. Growing up in a remote area devoid of cable television, he developed a passion for capturing moments through the lens of a camera, honing his skills in super 8 film photography from a young age.
By the time he was 12, Peter had already become an accomplished amateur still photographer, which granted him access to every lab and darkroom in the region. This early exposure to the world of photography laid the foundation for his future endeavors.
As he entered adulthood, Peter pursued a career as a musician and audio engineer in Los Angeles, eventually finding himself gravitating towards film and video work more frequently than audio engineering.
The allure of the Rocky Mountains beckoned, and Peter made the move to Colorado, where he landed a job with Warren Miller Films. In his spare time, he continued to work towards his degree in music, while also adding a film production major at the urging of his wife, Caroline.
Caroline Coggan, Peter's wife and creative partner, played a pivotal role in his professional journey. Together, they co-founded 42 Productions in Boulder, Colorado, producing videos for a diverse range of clients, including VW, Burger King, HP, Old Navy, New Belgium, and Ball Aerospace.
In 2008, Peter and 42 Productions made their feature film debut with Woodshop, followed by Fishing Naked, his second feature film. Throughout his career, Peter has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to his craft, constantly pushing the boundaries of his creativity and innovation.
