Peter Senerchia, professionally known as Taz, is a multifaceted American individual who has made a name for himself in the world of entertainment, sports, and media. With a career spanning over several decades, Taz has worn many hats, including that of a radio personality, color commentator, and retired professional wrestler.
One of the most notable chapters in Taz's career was his time in Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW),where he achieved numerous accolades, including being a two-time World Heavyweight Champion, a two-time World Television Champion, a three-time World Tag Team Champion, a two-time (and inaugural) FTW Heavyweight Champion, and the fourth ECW Triple Crown Champion.
Taz's professional wrestling career in the World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment (WWF/E) came to an abrupt end in 2002, but he quickly transitioned into a color-commentary role, which he continued to excel in until his contract with WWE expired in April 2009. Two months later, Senerchia made his debut in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) at their Victory Road pay-per-view event, rekindling his Taz ring name and eventually reprise his role as a color commentator for TNA's broadcasts, replacing Don West.
