Phill Martin, a towering figure at 7 feet tall, was born in Derbyshire, England, and has since made a name for himself in the acting world. Despite not starting his career until his 30s, he has accumulated an impressive number of credits, starring in a wide range of roles from Hollywood blockbusters to homegrown drama and comedy for BBC and ITV.
Phill's unique size has proven to be an asset, allowing him to easily slip into various prosthetics and costumes to bring fantastical creatures and beasts to life on screen. However, his skills extend beyond these roles, and he has also had the opportunity to break out of type and work alongside some of Hollywood's most recognizable stars.
Some of Phill's most notable roles include Hallgrimr Half-Troll in the Northman, where he starred alongside Alexander Skarsgård and Nicole Kidman, and Goliath in Pan, alongside Hugh Jackman. He has also appeared alongside Sean Bean as Thomas Garlick in the second season of ITV's The Frankenstein Chronicles.
In addition to his dramatic roles, Phill has also showcased his comedic chops, working with Mike Myers as Sasqutch in The Pentaverate, and starring alongside Joe Wilkinson and David Earl in a Sky Summer special. He has also played Lanky John in BBC Comedy drama Mountain Goats.
Phill's creature work has also been featured in a number of projects, including Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker and Prometheus, as well as supporting roles in indie features such as Cannibals & Carpet Fitters and Village in the Woods.
His latest project, 'Wreck', is set to be released by BBC this coming Spring.
