Žalica's family background is marked by a rich cultural heritage, with his father, Miodrag, being a notable dramaturgist and poet who scripted several TV movies during his lifetime, spanning from 1926 to 1992.
Throughout his illustrious career, Žalica has directed a variety of films, including several short films and three feature films, with the notable titles being "Gori vatra" in 2003 and "Kod amidže Idriza" in 2004.
In addition to his work in the film industry, Žalica has also ventured into the realm of music, directing the music video for the duet "Dabogda" by Dino Merlin and Hari Mata Hari in May 2008.
