Prabhat Kumar Mukhopadhyay, a renowned Bengali writer, was born on February 3, 1873, at his maternal uncle's residence in the present-day Purba Bardhaman district of West Bengal.

His native place was Gurap in the Hooghly district of West Bengal, where he drew inspiration from the local culture and traditions.

Mukhopadhyay is widely regarded as one of the most prominent and accomplished writers in Bengali Literature, next only to the illustrious Rabindranath Tagore in terms of popularity and recognition.

Throughout his illustrious career, he demonstrated his versatility by writing novels, short stories, and poems that captivated readers of all ages.
