Queenie Zhang, a Chinese-Canadian individual, embarked on a six-year journey working with children possessing special needs, preceding her entry into the realm of filmmaking. Her formative years, marked by being an only child, catapulted her to the forefront of attention and affection, concurrently generating a sense of pressure and high expectation from her parents. In stark contrast, she defied their wishes, refusing to conform to the traditional expectations of marrying and starting a family. Instead, she drew inspiration from her experiences as a bicultural individual and her rejection of societal gender norms, which ultimately influenced her creative endeavors. These experiences have instilled in her a profound passion for crafting narratives that delve into the complexities of identity, generational trauma, and the multifaceted experiences of women.
