Rachael Leahcar is a classically trained singer/songwriter from Adelaide, South Australia, who happens to be legally blind. This talented artist is proficient in singing in multiple languages, including English, French, Italian, and Spanish, and is also skilled in playing the piano, flute, and guitar.
After captivating audiences with her impressive performances on the first season of The Voice Australia, Rachael went on to secure a record deal with Universal Music, performed with Andrea Bocelli's orchestra in Italy, and released three top 10 albums. She has also toured a cabaret show that shares her inspiring life story.
Rachael's passion for music is evident in her words: "I can never sit still! Music consumes my entire existence and I wouldn't have it any other way. There's never enough opportunities to seek out new songs to sing. Something about singing on stage and connecting with an audience brings me so much happiness. Performing is the love of my life."
Rachael's debut album, 'Shooting Star', was released in 2012 and reached number 5 on the ARIA charts, following her audition on The Voice which was watched by a record-breaking 4.1 million people. Her subsequent albums, 'Romantique' (2013) and 'Here Comes the Sun' (2014),debuted at numbers 10 and 1, respectively, on the Classical/Crossover ARIA chart.
