Rachel Lascar is a French actress renowned for her captivating performances in various films and television series. Born Rachel Jacqueline Lascar in Saint-Brieuc, Brittany, France, she hails from a diverse family background, with roots in Breton, Italian, and North African cultures. Growing up in Laval, Pays de la Loire region, she developed a strong connection with her heritage.
Rachel's educational background is equally impressive, with a degree in art history from the Université de Villejean in Rennes. She also took evening drama classes at the Conservatoire de Théâtre, further honing her acting skills. Her Parisian stint saw her studying at the Institut of Theatrical Studies la Sorbonne, under the guidance of Georges Manu and Lucien Attoun, as well as the Jean Perimony drama school.
During her time in Paris, Rachel collaborated with a group of performers led by artist Miette, creating dance performances, installations, and films for Galerie La Clédalique in Cadaquès. She also worked as a first assistant director and production assistant for various advertising agencies, including BDDP@TBWA. Rachel is a multi-talented individual, who writes and directs for both theatre and film, and is currently working on her second short film.
Rachel made her film debut in the independent film Contre-Bandiers, directed by Danos and produced by the Agnès B Foundation in Paris. In 2001, she relocated to Spain, where she has since appeared in a wide range of films and series, including Elite, The Gunman, Mrs Davis, and the Through my Window trilogy. She has also studied the Meisner technique with Javier Galitó Cava and Rachael Adler, and continued to work in theatre.
Throughout her illustrious career, Rachel has had the privilege of working with esteemed directors such as Owen Harris, Roxann Dawson, Isabel Coixet, Pierre Morel, Jesús Colmenar, Albert Pintó, Jose Mari Goenaga, Jon Garaño, Aitor Arregi, and Ventura Pons. She has also shared the screen with notable actors including Sean Penn, Daniel Brühl, Armand Assante, Adrian Pang, Anouk Grinberg, Elena Anaya, Najwa Nimri, Pedro Alonso, Itziar Ituño, Mario Casas, Cayetana Guillén Cuervo, and Julio Peña.
