Ras, a talented individual, was born in the charming north west London neighborhood of Hampstead. His parents, Clive Barker and Rosemary Bruen, were both artists, and Ras spent his childhood split between London and the picturesque Malvern hills in Worcestershire, where he attended school.
Although Ras started attending acting classes at the tender age of 7, he initially pursued a career in business before ultimately surrendering to his passion for the performing arts and enrolling in drama school.
Since attending the prestigious Academy of Live and Recorded Arts, Ras has appeared in numerous independent films and various British television series for esteemed networks such as the BBC, Thames, and LWT, including notable shows like London's Burning, Eastenders, and The Bill.
In 2005, Ras had a significant role in the critically acclaimed film Stoned, directed by Stephen Woolley, which tells the intriguing story of the mysterious death of Rolling Stones co-founder Brian Jones.
As a multifaceted artist, Ras has also written and produced short films for his production company, Extra Digit Ltd, including the award-winning Life is a Circus and Somewhere, which starred ex-Stranglers frontman Hugh Cornwell.
Ras is also a devoted father to his daughter, Coral Barker, who served as the inspiration for his debut book, Coral and the Glis Glis, published in 2020.
Currently, Ras resides in Buckinghamshire with his wife, Jan.
