Rahul is a highly respected and versatile performer who has been nominated for national awards three times and Indian TV academy awards twice. He is trained in martial arts and stunts, and has a natural talent for accents and languages.
Rahul's artistic foundation is rooted in six intense years of drama, including plays for the American embassy in Mumbai, fringe theatre in London, and various social awareness street plays in India. He has also penned some of the plays himself.
In addition to his passion for the arts, Rahul is dedicated to environmental, wildlife conservation, and man-animal conflict resolution.
As an actor, Rahul has appeared in several prominent Indian films, including Ghazi Attack, Delhi Belly, the Indian version of 24, Stanley's Tiffin Box, Jail, Zubeida, Khiladi 786, Tere Bin Laden, Fireflies, Zed Plus, and SKBM series. He has also endorsed brands such as BMW, Hyundai, and Standard Chartered Bank.
Rahul hails from the historical city of lakes, Udaipur, and was educated at Mayo College, St Xavier's College, and the British Film Institute in the UK.
Recent projects include starring roles in In The Rani and Naam Gum Jayega on atrangii. Upcoming releases include Dur Sey, a psycho-thriller, Galli no.26, a social satire, and Mussourie Boyz, a comic caper.
Rahul is set to work with ace directors Shriram Raghavan, Navdeep Singh, and Raj Singh Chaudhary on their next projects. As a screenwriter, his content is being pitched to leading platforms. He has also worked on the Indian adaptations of Reservoir Dogs, Gulaal, Kaun Kitne Pani Mein, Sooper Se Oopar, and Acid Factory, as well as additional dialogue for 24 and some Star TV shows.
Rahul's family has a strong background in politics and hospitality, but he chose to pursue a career in the arts despite the uncertainty. His father, Thakur Rajendra Singh Mahiarya, is a reputed hotelier, and his mother, Dr Prabha Thakur, is a highly renowned poet and veteran parliamentarian who has represented India at the United Nations.
