Rajshri Deshpande is a multifaceted individual, exceling in various creative and humanitarian pursuits. As an actor, filmmaker, and producer, she has made a mark in the entertainment industry with her work on notable projects such as Trial by Fire, The Fame Game, Sacred Games, Mcmafia, Angry Indian Goddesses, Manto, S Durga, Nirvana Inn, Choked, and My Dog is Sick.
Rajshri's journey began in a humble setting, with a family of farmers, which instilled in her a deep empathy for the struggles of rural communities. This experience has driven her passion to empower villages and make them self-reliant.
Throughout her career, Rajshri has been dedicated to humanitarian causes, often lending her time and expertise to support those in need. In 2014, she worked with an international NGO in a village affected by the Nepal earthquake. In 2015, she adopted a drought-prone village in Maharashtra's Marathwada region, Pandhari, and collaborated with local residents to implement a rainwater harvesting project, construct toilets, healthcare facilities, and community motivation camps. The success of this initiative led her to adopt another village in the region.
In 2018, Rajshri founded her non-governmental organization, Nabhangan Foundation (www.nabhanganfoundation.org),to expand her efforts towards sustainable village development. Under her leadership, the team constructed three eco-sensitive schools and worked on water, sanitation, women's community centers, and healthcare initiatives. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Nabhangan Foundation collaborated with over 30 villages, and the team is now focused on making these villages self-sufficient.
