Personal Details

Biography

John C. Fremont High School's Media Academy was where Ramasses T. Head first discovered his passion for video production. His early start came when he covered a shoot for a local politician's visit to the school. This sparked his interest, and he soon landed a job at KDOL, the Oakland Unified School District's television station. At just 17 years old, he directed his first live production, marking the beginning of his illustrious career.

Throughout the years, Ramasses continued to work with KDOL, developing educational programming and maintaining a successful freelance career. In 2005, he founded History in the Making Films Inc., a full-service media production company, to build a team and take on larger projects. This move allowed him to pursue his creative vision and collaborate with a diverse range of clients, including commercial clients, artists, and community advocates.

Ramasses gained recognition for his work on a series of DVDs, capturing the essence of the Bay Area's car culture and street life. However, it was his involvement in independent filmmaking that truly showcased his talents. He co-produced the Oakland cult classic, Townbiz, featuring Too Short and Mistah FAB. The film's success opened his eyes to the world of filmmaking, and he went on to produce several notable projects, including the crime drama, Secrets of Deception, starring Tom Sizemore and Richard T. Jones, and the urban drama short, Fools and Babies, in 2015.

Ramasses' work has been featured on prominent networks such as Hulu, Viceland, and BET. He is currently the Vice President of Media Productions and Technology at 360 Total Concept Inc, where he directs Spotlight with Shonda Scott and 12 New things re-imagined, among other media projects.

As an Oakland native, Ramasses is deeply involved in local productions and community initiatives. He works closely with Kingmakers of Oakland and their KOO Media Academy Program, and is a former teaching artist for Youth Beat at KDOL TV, where he mentored the next generation of media makers.
