Born in Madrid, Spain, Fernandez's passion for the film industry led him to make a drastic career change, leaving behind a lucrative career in finance on Wall Street to pursue his dreams in New York.
Early on, he gained recognition for his work on popular TV shows such as "The Sopranos", followed by a steady stream of roles on "Law & Order", "CSI Miami", "Sons of Anarchy", "Iron Fist", and in films like "Che", "Taxi", "No Reservations", and the Academy Award-nominated "The Visitor".
Fernandez is also a talented writer-director, having created the controversial documentary "Glory Daze: The Life and Times of Michael Alig" for Netflix and Amazon Prime, as well as the upcoming film "Surpassing Sight".
