Randy "MachoMan" Savage, one of the most vibrant and larger-than-life wrestlers in and out of the ring, alongside other wrestling superstars such as "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, Hulk Hogan, Jimmy Snuka, Jesse Ventura, and Dwayne Johnson, transcended the world of professional wrestling to become a pop icon.
Upon signing with the WWE, Savage swiftly became a top heel, with a plethora of WWE Hall of Fame managers guiding his career, including Jimmy Hart, Bobby Heenan, Classy Freddie Blassie, and his most renowned manager, the stunning Miss Elizabeth. During his WWE tenure, Savage clashed with other WWE legends of the 1980s, such as Junkyard Dog, Merced Solis, Bruno Sammartino, and George 'The Animal' Steele, with a particularly notable feud with Hulk Hogan.
Throughout his WWE career, Savage won the Heavyweight Title twice, the Intercontinental title once, and was crowned the 1989 King of the Ring. He then transitioned to World Championship Wrestling (WCW),signing a $6-million contract, and went on to win the WCW Heavyweight Title four times.
For fans, Savage is most enduringly remembered for his on- and off-screen relationship with Miss Elizabeth, which became the most famous love story in WWE history. However, their relationship began to deteriorate, manifesting in his professional life, and ultimately culminated in their separation. Following his departure from WCW, Savage joined TNA (Total Non-Stop Action) Wrestling.
