Raul Martinez, a multifaceted artist, was born in 1981 in San Francisco, California. His journey in the entertainment industry began in 1993, when he started his career as a singer in the San Francisco Bay Area's Spanish Pop Music Scene. His debut single, "Solamente Tu," received airplay on local radio stations such as La Grande 1010am and the Z Spanish Network.
Martinez's passion for the stage continued to grow, and he pursued a career in acting. During his freshman year, he joined the Madera Coyote Theatre Group in Madera, California. He also became a part of several other theatre improv groups, including the Madera Acton Youth Committee, where he directed plays and skits that addressed important social issues such as gang violence, drug use prevention, and teen pregnancy prevention.
In the early 2000s, Martinez returned to the San Francisco Bay Area and began producing a series of Chicano Underground Music artists, including Sir Dyno, Duke, Crooked, and the group Darkroom Familia. This marked a significant milestone in his career, as he was able to showcase the talents of up-and-coming artists from the Bay Area.
In 2003, Martinez made his film debut with "Jack Movez," alongside David Rocha, a well-known Bay Area Chicano music artist and actor. The film was released under Pumpkin Patch Pictures and received national distribution through Blockbuster, Hollywood Video Stores, and Pay Per View. This was followed by other films, including "Dope Game 2: Cokeland," "Illegal Business," and "I Got Five On It."
