Ravi Babu, a renowned individual, was born in Poranki, Andhra Pradesh, and underwent a diverse educational journey that took him to various esteemed institutions in Chennai, Pune, and the United States. His father, Thammareddy Chalapathi Rao, a celebrated Telugu film character artiste, has acted in over 1,200 films across 48 years, providing Ravi with a unique and inspiring upbringing.
Ravi's childhood was marked by a normal and stable environment, as he attended the best schools in Chennai. Upon completing his education, he pursued a Master's degree in Business Administration from the prestigious Symbiosis Institute of Business Management in Pune.
Following his academic endeavors, Ravi worked as an apprentice to the renowned filmmaker and advertisement maker, Rajiv Menon, for a year. He then relocated to the United States, where he enrolled at the Film and Television Workshops in Rockport, Maine. However, he decided to quit the program after realizing that the curriculum was too rudimentary for his skills.
Undeterred, Ravi attended the Sony Institute in San Jose, California, to further his knowledge in digital online editing. His professional journey continued with stints at the now-defunct India Broadcasting Network in New York and TV Asia, where he worked as a cameraman, editor, program producer, and director.
Eventually, Ravi returned to India and began his career as a director, producing and directing numerous commercials for a Chennai-based film production company, Autumncart. In 1999, he established his own production house, Flying Frogs, and has since been responsible for producing and directing a wide range of commercials and films.
