As a teenager, Raymond's passion for the performing arts led him to land a leading role in a teenage martial arts film during a vacation in Manila. This early exposure to the entertainment industry sparked a desire to pursue a career in acting, and after completing high school, he returned to Manila to focus on his craft.
The 1990s saw Raymond establishing himself as a prominent figure in the action film genre, working on numerous projects that showcased his versatility and range as an actor. However, he soon expanded his repertoire to include more dramatic roles, earning critical acclaim and recognition, including the Best Actor award at the Asian Television Awards in Singapore in 2001 for his powerful performance in "Maale Ala Mo kaya" (Would you remember The Wedding Ring).
Throughout his career, Raymond has been recognized for his impressive martial arts skills, having trained in various disciplines, including Wing Chun Kung Fu, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Ju-Jitsu, Capoeira, and Aikido.
