Rebecca Massey is a renowned Sydney-based actress born in Rotorua, New Zealand in 1969. She began her professional career at the tender age of 17 in a production of Arthur Miller's The Crucible with the Mercury Theatre Company, now known as the Auckland Theatre Company.
Rebecca's early success led her to star in the Auckland Theatre Company's production of Daughters of Heaven, which marked a significant milestone in her career. She then co-founded the Stronghold Theatre company with her husband, Peter Evans, with whom she shared a deep passion for the performing arts.
After graduating from Auckland Law School, Rebecca made the bold decision to relocate to Australia, where she pursued a career in acting. Her breakthrough role came when she toured New Zealand with an Australian production of Steaming, alongside the talented Liz Burch, Lenore Smith, and the late Cornelia Frances.
Rebecca's association with Director Neil Armfield at Company B was a defining period in her career. Rebecca has also been part of several notable productions, including Belvoir Street's It Just Stopped, alongside Catherine McClements and John Woods. Her work with the Malthouse Theatre, the State Theatre of South Australia, and the Griffin Theatre Company has been marked by critically acclaimed performances.
