Renée Pilar Estevez was born on April 2, 1967, in the vibrant city of New York, making her the youngest child and only daughter of Janet Sheen (née Templeton),a talented artist, and Martin Sheen, a renowned actor. Her three older brothers, Emilio Estevez (born 1962),Ramon Estevez (born 1963),and Charlie Sheen (born 1965),also followed in their parents' footsteps by pursuing careers in the entertainment industry.
Renée's first foray into acting came in 1986, when she landed a role in an episode of the CBS Schoolbreak Special, a popular television series that aimed to educate and inform young viewers about various social issues. Her most iconic film appearance, however, is arguably her portrayal of the lovable and quirky Betty Finn in the cult classic Heathers, released in 1989. Estevez also made uncredited appearances in the director's cut of Lethal Weapon (1987) and had roles in two late 1980s slasher films, Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers (1988) and Intruder (1989),in which she played the roles of final girl Molly and first victim Linda, respectively.
Throughout her career, Renée Estevez has made numerous guest appearances on various television shows, including Growing Pains (1985),MacGyver (1985),ABC Afterschool Specials (1972),Red Shoe Diaries (1992),JAG (1995),and The Division (2001). She also had a recurring role on the critically acclaimed series The West Wing (1999),playing the role of Nancy, an assistant in the Oval Office of President Josiah Bartlet, who was played by her father Martin.
As of 2015, Renée's most recent on-screen appearance was in the film The Way (2010),which was written and directed by her brother Emilio and co-starred Emilio and their father Martin. Additionally, she wrote a few episodes of her brother Charlie's show Anger Management (2012).
Renée has been married to Jason Thomas Federico, a skilled chef and golfer, since October 11, 1997. The couple met while Renée was studying pastry and baking science at the California Culinary Academy.
