A self-proclaimed "fat, Jewish maverick" from New York departed his hometown at the tender age of 17, bound for the sun-kissed city of Miami, Florida, where he would reside for an impressive 25 years.
Initially, he embarked on a culinary career, flipping burgers and managing drive-in restaurants, before transitioning to the world of radio. He quickly discovered a knack for announcing and producing shows, and his talents soon extended to editing the weekly Dade County Times-Union.
Parallel to his radio endeavors, he dabbled in politics and, remarkably, found himself at the helm of directing, writing, and dubbing films, television programs, and cartoons into multiple languages, including Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Greek, Italian, and Czech.
Reuben Guberman continued to write for film and television until 1968, when the demands of supporting his family necessitated a shift to editing trade magazines. He then ventured into running his own convention and show management firm, before relocating to New Jersey in 1975 to join a pharmaceutical company as a sales promotion manager.
In 1978, he co-authored the seminal work "Transactional Awareness," and in 1980, published his own book, "Handbook of Retail Promotions." His expertise also led to the publication of numerous articles in pharmaceutical trade journals.
