Rey Valentin is a talented actor, producer, and director, best known for his captivating performance as Cpl. Gabe Garza in the HBO Emmy-nominated miniseries Generation Kill in 2008.
In addition to his work in television, Valentin has also appeared in several films, including the immigration drama Crossing Over, opposite Harrison Ford, Ray Liotta, and Ashley Judd, and the psychological thriller The Jailhouse, alongside C. Thomas Howell.
On the small screen, Valentin has made numerous guest appearances on popular shows such as Human Target, Law & Order, The Bedford Diaries, Numb3rs, CSI: NY, One Tree Hill, The Unit, NCIS, and more.
Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Valentin began his acting journey at the age of 14, working alongside mentor Donna Sue De Guzman to mount original productions in his hometown. This led to their collaborative musical production, "Peacocks & Peanuts," which won a spot at the Edinburgh, Scotland Fringe Festival.
Valentin then trained at the SUNY Purchase Acting Conservatory under the direction of the late Joan Potter and later traveled to Burgos, Spain, to co-produce and star in Jose Triana's Spanish language play, "La Noche De Los Asenios."
Upon graduation, he joined the New York City theatre community and performed in the Soho Rep's highly praised "Everything will be Different." He also joined the cast of "Much Ado About Nothing" for the 50th year celebration of Shakespeare in Central Park.
As a producer and director, Valentin has co-produced "Get Home Safe," which was bought by Showtime and aired during their Black History Month Special. He has also produced and directed "The Son," which won a screening at NYC's Urban World film festival.
Valentin has been featured in various publications, including People Magazine Espanol, Tempo Magazine, The New York Post, Daily News Espanol, Daily News Latino, Parlour Magazine, Ocean Drive Espanol, and Insider Magazine. He has appeared on The Gregory Mantell Show, Current TV, and has been a radio guest on KKUU Palms Springs, KQCH Omaha, KTEG Albuquerque, and WSKS Syracuse.
