Thai actress and pop star Rhatha Phongam, professionally known as Yayaying (Ying for short),is the daughter of renowned comedic actor Noi Phongam. Born with a silver spoon, Yayaying has had the privilege of recording with some of Thailand's top talents and releasing her debut album at the tender age of 16. Not only is she a talented singer, but she is also an accomplished dancer, having studied ballet since the age of six.
As an international talent, Yayaying is fluent in both Thai and English, allowing her to take on productions in Thailand, Germany, and even collaborate with acclaimed directors and Hollywood stars. One of her most notable roles was in Nicolas Winding Refn's "Only God Forgives" alongside Ryan Gosling.
Currently, Yayaying is filming as the lead cast in "Jan Dara", an erotic Thai movie based on the novel by Utsana Phleungtham, which explores the sexual rivalry between a Thai nobleman and his illegitimate son. Directed by MLPantewanop Devakula, the movie is set to be released in Thailand in September 2012.
