Richa, a New York City-based filmmaker, hails from India where she initially developed an aversion to most Bollywood and mainstream Hollywood movies. However, her perception of cinema underwent a significant transformation upon discovering the world of independent and foreign films during her pursuit of a graduate degree in statistics in the United States.
Richa's interest in filmmaking culminated in the creation of the award-winning short film "Taaza Khoon" (Fresh Blood),which has been enjoying a successful run at various film festivals. As an actor, she has also had the opportunity to perform in short films and Off-Broadway plays in New York City.
Richa has honed her craft through training with renowned institutions such as The Barrow Group, Independent Film School, and New York Film Academy. She is a proud member of several prestigious organizations, including Filmshop's Sandbox Directing Lab, FilmmakerHers, NYWIFT, NYC Women Filmmakers, and South Asian Film Collective.
At her core, Richa is a storyteller who views the world through a sociological lens, driven to tell tales of courage and resilience. When not immersed in the world of filmmaking, she can be found exploring the hidden gems of New York City with her husband, sharing adorable animal and baby videos with friends, or keeping in touch with her family across the globe through WhatsApp.
