Biography

Richard Baneham, a two-time Academy Award winning Visual Effects Supervisor, Executive Producer, and 2nd Unit Director, has made a significant impact in the film industry, particularly with his work on the Avatar sequels. Born and raised in a traditional Animation background, Richie's transition to computer-generated imagery (cg) began while working on the critically acclaimed animated film "The Iron Giant". This marked the beginning of his journey into the world of cg, where he would go on to win numerous awards for his work as an Animation Supervisor on notable projects such as "Lord of the Rings", "The Two Towers", and "The Return of the King". His impressive resume also includes credits on "Alita: Battle Angel" and "The Chronicles of Narnia", specifically "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe". Additionally, Richard had the unique opportunity to venture into the world of theme parks, where he played a crucial role in designing and co-directing the "The Flight of Passage" and "The Na'vi River Ride Journey" at Disney's Animal Kingdom in Florida.
