Biography

Richard Brooker's acting career began with a discovery by a casting magazine, "Dramalogue", which led to his role as the mindless killer Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13th: Part 3 (1982) and the supporting role of the warrior Oghris in "Deathstalker" (1983). This marked the only acting experience for Brooker, who later pursued a drastically different professional path.

Born in 1954, Brooker hailed from the UK, where he was the son of C.S.M.I. (Canadian forces school of Military Intelligence) of the British Cavalry. He was also an avid polo player and sailor. Brooker's diverse talents extended to performing as a trapeze artist and stage manager in a circus worldwide, as well as training and performing with horses.

Later, Brooker trained horses again for stunts and stunt coordination, and worked in various areas of television and film production.

As the 1980s drew to a close, Brooker abandoned his acting career to become a technical and production manager, and also an independent producer, primarily focusing on Polo Championships, Horse shows, Fox Sports, and many other events.

From 1999 to 2002, Brooker served as the executive in Charge Of Production for six daily shows, produced in Digital Television for AENTV (Alternative Entertainment Network) based in Los Angeles, California. He also directed 42 episodes of the 1993 TV Series "Bill Nye the Science Guy".

Sadly, Richard Brooker passed away from an apparent sudden heart attack in Los Angeles on April 8, 2013, at the age of 58.
