Richard Mofe-Damijo, affectionately known as RMD, is a Nigerian actor and politician born on July 6, 1961. He has made a name for himself in the African film industry, earning the prestigious African Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in 2005.
In addition to his successful acting career, Mofe-Damijo has also ventured into politics. Since January 2009, he has served as the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Delta State, Nigeria.
Born in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria, Mofe-Damijo began his educational journey at Midwest College, Warri, and later attended Anglican Grammar School, where he was an active member of the Drama Club.
His passion for the performing arts led him to enroll in the University of Benin, where he studied Theatre Arts. Years later, in 1997, Mofe-Damijo returned to academia, this time at the University of Lagos, to pursue a law degree. He successfully completed his studies in 2004.
