Richard Ruskin, born in New Jersey, embarked on a performing arts journey after completing his training at Rutgers University Mason Gross School of the Arts and Ithaca College. He kickstarted his acting career in New York City, working on various productions, including the popular TV show "Days of Our Lives."
After a few years, Richard made the bold decision to relocate to Los Angeles, where he spent the next 15 years building a computer consulting company, becoming a private pilot, and even a flight instructor. However, despite his best efforts, acting opportunities were scarce, and he eventually felt the urge to start anew.
This sense of wanderlust led Richard to Alaska, where he spent an incredible 10 years in a small village, finding a sense of belonging and contentment. He reflected on this period, stating, "I wouldn't change a thing... it was a great experience."
The allure of the business world eventually drew Richard away from the cold, and he found himself in the Sunshine State, Florida. Here, he experienced a remarkable surge in acting work, landing film, TV, and national commercial roles. He described this period as "amazing," stating, "I was like, oh, so this is what an acting career looks like..."
In 2016, Richard made another significant move, relocating to Manhattan's Upper East Side. He quickly found work and expressed his love for being back in New York City.
When not pursuing his acting career, Richard enjoys a range of activities, including SCUBA diving, flying, and exploring the city that never sleeps.
